It’s that festive time of the year again! Whether you celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah or anything else, I think we can all agree it’s a wonderful time. And, with a break from school and more free time, many may be looking for some fun and festive holiday activities to fill time! Well here are some of the best local holiday events, scored with a price range out of three $’s! Enjoy!
- Country Club Plaza Lights
Every year Kansas City has tons and tons of beautiful lights put up on the plaza. It’s a local staple and you can visit for free, just provide travel! It’s perfect for an excuse to get out during the holiday season. You can also shop and eat with loved ones while you are there.

- Zona Rosa
Another great shopping center is Zona Rosa, this one is located in Kansas. Complete with a GIGANTIC tree, a Santa and dozens of shopping locations and eateries, Zona Rosa is the perfect place to visit this holiday season!

- Crown Center Ice Terrace
Crown center offers an amazing winter activity in the form of ice skating! Ice skating is a lot of fun and a very iconic holiday tradition for many! It’s also located in a very nice area for shopping and for taking lots of cute holiday pictures.

- Christmas in the Park
If you want an amazing lighting extravaganza, Longview Lake has the event for you! Complete with strobes, moving lights and huge trees, Christmas in the park is a great time for the whole family! It is also located locally and very easy to get to (there may be a lot of traffic though).
