Bert Breakfast
By Madeline Stouffer
One thing that LSHS prides itself on is the community and familial environment that has been facilitated since the high school’s conception. When one of us is hurting or is in need, the school showers that individual in support. You can see this in the way we come around our families during the holidays with meal baskets, as well as the way that the student body supported Custodian Reggie Buckles’ family when they lost their home to the Louisiana floodings. This was no exception when the Tiger Family learned of Assistant Principal Tracy Bertoncin’s diagnosis of breast cancer. In an effort to come alongside Mrs. Bertoncin, some of the staff here at Lee’s Summit High School will be putting on a Breakfast for Bert. Please join the LSHS school and softball community as we gather for food, fun, and fellowship in support of Tracy Bertoncin at Breakfast for Bert. Pancakes, coffee, and juice will be served from 8:30-11:30 a.m., Wednesday December 28th in the Lee’s Summit High School Cafeteria. Donations accepted to help cover the cost of breakfast. Anyone and everyone is invited to come and show your love and support for Bert. As we look towards the future, we are certain that our Bert will fight this fight with all she has.
